Some Oral History...

  • The first set of false teeth was discovered in 8th century BC.
  • The first braces were constructed by Pierre Fauchard in 1728 in France.  They consisted of a flat strip of metal connected to the teeth by pieces of thread.
  • Orthodontic brackets were invented by Edward Angle in 1915.  If you (or your parents or grandparents!) had braces before 1970, they were probably similar to those invented by Dr. Angle.

Explorer Post 296 - Careers in Dentistry

The wait is over! Explorer Post 296 is back at MDDF!

More than 40 students interested in exploring a career in Dentistry are participating in this year's Explorer program, and more than a dozen dentists are sharing their experience and expertise.

There are no student openings left, but volunteer dentists are always welcome to particpate in upcoming sessions.

This program is co-sponsored by the Colorado Dental Association through an alliance with Exploring, a national subsidiary of the Learning for Life program.
